Цель урока: Развитие навыков чтения, умения работать с новой лексикой .

Говорение
Учащиеся должны уметь вести диалог, используя оценочные суждения в ситуациях, участвовать в обсуждении проблем в связи с прочитанным, прослушанным иноязычным текстом, соблюдая правила речевого этикета; рассуждать в рамках изученной тематики,участвовать в беседе на знакомую тему; кратко передавать содержание полученной информации;рассуждать о фактах , событиях, приводя примеры, аргументы, делая выводы; описывать особенности жизни и культуры своей страны и стран изучаемого языка .

T: I’m glad to see you, dear friends! Take your seats please. How are you today?
St.: I’m fine/ OK/ Thanks, and you? or We are well, thank you. And what about you? etc.
T: Thanks a lot. I’m all right and ready to discuss with you a very important problem.
II Фонетическая зарядка. (Слайд 2)
1) T: Read English proverbs as good as you can. Pay attention to the pronunciation.
S.: He has no home whose home is everywhere.
Home is home though it be never so homely.
The wider we roam, the welcomer home.
2) T: Give Russian equivalents.
S.: У того нет дома, у кого он везде.
Дом есть дом, даже если никогда не был домашним.
Чем дальше мы скитаемся, тем благосклоннее к дому.

T: Do you live in a house or in apartment?
Is it a many-storied block of flats?
How many stores are there in it? What floor do you live?

T: Have you ever seen someone sleeping in a shop doorway, in a train station or on a park bench?
S1: Yes, I have seen many people sleeping in the train station and a few people sleeping in the park.
T: Why do you think these people don’t have a home?
S2: Maybe they don’t have money to pay the rent or maybe they have lost their homes due to a natural disaster.
S3: Maybe they have run away from home.
S4: In my opinion they took an apartment on credit and are
unable to pay the Bank.
S5: I believe that these people could be duped by fraudsters who robbed their house or apartment.
T: How do you think what we’ll read and speak about.
S6: Perhaps we’ll discuss a problem of youth’s homelessness.

T: As we all know, life is very unpredictable. One minute you are on top of the world and another you are kicked out of your comfortable lifestyle in a split-second.
Please, look at the title of the text and tell me what will this unit be devoted to.
S: The title of the text is “A life on the streets”.
T: Read the introduction and try to imagine what is like life for Jasmine.
S1: It must be awful to live like that.
S2: She must feel cold and uncomfortable. It is also embarrassing to ask passers-by for money.
S3: She must be feeling really depressed.
S4: She feels unhappy and sad. Etc.

S1: The cities have crowded streets and heavy traffic, high cost of living but a lot of attractions. S2: I think that helpful and friendly people live there but they have high rate of unemployment. There's little entertainment and opportunities for self-realization.
