Задачи урока - развитие аудитивных навыков учащихся - усвоение учащимися лексических единиц по теме «Нервная система» - развитие умений анализировать и перерабатывать полученную информацию. How do we call a system consisting of these parts? – The nervous system So the aim of our lesson is to speak about the nervous system. Our tasks for today are: 1. To listen to the text about nervous system 2. To learn the parts of the nervous system. 3. To make up a quiz about the nervous system. V Работа над аудированием. Предтекстовый этап. Open your books on page 40 and look at the pictures. What does our nervous system consist of? What function does it have? Now look at exercise 1. Read the text quickly and match the headings to the paragraphs. You have 5 minutes. 1.C What controls our body 2.D The control centre 3.E Anatomy of the brain 4.A The longest nerve. VII Текстовый этап. Now close the text and look only at the pictures. Listen to the text and write down 5 new things you have learnt about the nervous system. What new information have you learnt? 1 The nervous system consists of the brain, the spinal cord and a network of nerves. 2 The brain works as the “central computer” for the nervous system. 3 The biggest part of the brain is called the cerebrum. 4 The brain contains about a billion nerve cells. 5 The Thalamus carries messages to the sensory organs. Look through the text again and say which part of the nervous system: carries messages from the sensory system to the cerebrum? (thalamus) controls movement and coordination? (cerebellum) controls body temperature and appetite? (hypothalamus) produces hormones to control metabolism? (pituitary gland) are like long thin threads with fingers? (nerve cells) receives messages from different parts of the body and tells how to react? (the brain) runs from the brain and down through the backbone? (spinal cord) VIII Послетекстовый этап. Now work individually. Think about 8 or 10 questions to make up a quiz about the nervous system, use the information from the text. You have 10 minutes. Now work in pairs. Test your partner for how well he knows the nervous system. IX Подведение итогов урока, предъявление домашнего задания. So today we discussed the nervous system. What was new for you?
